Google Voyager
Google Voyager
Google Earth's Voyager is a showcase of interactive guided tours, quizzes and layers that aim to help educate everyone about the world, locations near and far. By clicking the ship's wheel icon on Google Earth, you’ll circumnavigate the globe with the Hōkūleʻa using stars, track hurricanes and tropical storms in real time, and find place-based stories authored by partners such as National Geographic and HHMI Biointeractive. Voyager’s curated stories weave in rich media, such as 360 videos and Street View, allowing us to learn about Earth from a new perspective.
Biosecurity for Life
Innovation at its best...
During 2021, the RSPB worked with several primary schools across Scotland to co-develop a digital educational resource pack so that other pupils across the UK can learn about and contribute to protecting our amazing island-nesting seabird populations.
Read more below...
What made this project unique is the adoption of a co-design approach to create the resource. Over 100 Scottish pupils designed a whole host of island biosecurity activities within the digital education pack. Their creative ideas based on their own learning preferences, included board games, art activities, outdoor activities, digital games, treasure hunts, songs, and films. The RSPB then brought their ideas to life by employing designers and game developers to produce a finished product. For example, pupils from the Small Isles Primary on the Isle of Jura invented a board game based on the playing principles of Monopoly, where pupils can work together to eradicate rats form their islands by answering questions and collecting Conservation Points to buy biosecurity measures. By signing up to this FREE programme, each class will receive the ‘Save our Seabirds’ board game (see attached)
The programme is easy to navigate and celebrates the creative ideas of children as a way to teach school pupils about biosecurity.. If you would like to sign up to this FREE programme, please can you fill in and return the request from attached to educationscotland@rspb.org.uk and we will get it sent out in the post. Please note, the board game is part of module 3 of the programme and there is a digital snakes and ladders game included as well. For more information on the six modules, visit

WELL DONE
Stirling Council schools were well represented in the LfS Awards this year! This demonstrates what we already knew... amazing things are happening in our schools. The effort that staff, pupils, parents and community partners are making to improve the learning experience of our young people is phenomenal.
Well done everyone.
We hope to showcase these schools to build a collaborative network to help support everyone.
